Legendary First Official Season Of SpeedBall Is In The Books!
Big Red Pigeons Champs! Static Shock Epic Last Inning Charge Short Circuited by Magic Dogs Webgem In perhaps the most exciting SpeedBall championship game to date, the Big Red Pigeons managed to hold on to victory thanks to an amazing diving catch by Hayes Frederick to pull the power on a furious Static Shock comeback attempt. At the onset, it appeared that the Big Red Pigeons were going to lay an egg, having fanned 5 times in their first 6 at bats. The Static Shock were powerless in the first few frames as well. The Magic Dogs took an early lead on aggressive hitting by Frederick, Lytikainen (triple), and Hong (who was an astounding 6-7). But in the 3rd inning, ...
The 5 Steps To Youth Baseball Success: (2/5) Playing Options – Camps & Clinics
Camps are the most underrated developmental baseball resource that you can possibly put your child in. The fact that you can get six hours of baseball in a day, six hours x five days a week, thirty hours of baseball in one week of a baseball camp - that's like an entire season of practices! How cool is that? So if you want your child not just to get better at baseball, but fall in love with it, send them to camp. When you're signing your child up for camps, don't look for development, I'm sorry, but you're not going to tell me that there are camps out there that genuinely develop skills like you would in a travel ball practice. Yes, we develop skills at Legends Baseball Camps, but our first priority is fun.
The 5 Steps To Youth Baseball Success: (2/5) Playing Options – Little League
First off, I want to say that I’m a huge supporter of, and played Little League. I'm sure my kids will play as well. I had a wonderful experience and I still do a lot of work with Little League today. Little League is awesome because it's community driven. You're going to have the families out there, you're going to have burgers flipping after games, your kids are going to have an opportunity to play with their classmates and against their classmates. It just feels good and when done right it is fun!
The 5 Steps To Youth Baseball Success: (2/5) Playing Options – Travel Ball
Travel ball or tournament baseball, either way it’s still all travel ball. There's lots of pluses and minuses. I'll start with the advantages. One is that if you want to play travel ball, your child will typically be around better and stronger players. In general, they're not going to have as many of the weak links that you would have on a Little League team with a travel ball team.

Coach David Klein here from Legends Baseball. Thank you for joining me for the very first video of my new five-part video series, which I'm calling the 5P's: How to Guide Your Child to Baseball Success. Quick background about me, I've been coaching baseball for over 15 years worldwide, but primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through my Legends baseball program, I've coached over 50 players that have gone on to play professional baseball, including two Olympians and 3 Major League Ballplayers. So I've really seen it from the youth level all the way to the professional ranks.
Legend’s SpeedBall League Inaugural Opening Day Overview
It was a beautiful weekend for Legends Baseball as things kicked off for the Fall with the first annual Legend’s Speedball League. Five games were on tap over the course of the weekend as 15 teams took the field for the first time. The weekend’s games utilized coach pitch in order to facilitate the action, and action there certainly was. A unique aspect of Speedball (as opposed to traditional game formats), is that everyone plays all of the time...and the volume of at bats and defensive reps at each position dwarfs other organized leagues in comparison. With rules set up to keep games competitive, the boys each had nearly a Baker’s dozen of ABs in less than 2 hours! As ...
