2024 Summer Preview: Meet the Menlo Park Legends and Legacy
The Legends Baseball program is thrilled to announce an exciting development for the 2024 summer collegiate season: the addition of a second team, the Menlo Park Legends, to compete in the California Collegiate League. This expansion builds on our rich 15-year history of developing top-tier talent, including three Major Leaguers, two Olympians, and over 50 players who have signed MLB contracts. The new Menlo Park Legends will join our existing team, the Menlo Park Legacy, which will continue its competition in the Bay Area Collegiate League.
Chris DeBoo, a highly respected figure with deep roots in California’s collegiate baseball scene, will lead the Menlo Park Legends as the head coach. A former collegiate and professional pitcher, Chris brings a wealth of experience from his current role as the director of pitching development at the University of San Francisco. His expertise, particularly his certifications in Driveline Baseball and Rapsodo, are expected to bring a competitive edge to the Legends as they rejoin the California Collegiate League after previously competing from 2012 to 2016.
Nick White will continue to helm the Menlo Park Legacy, bringing his extensive experience as a player’s coach. Admired for his infectious positive energy and holistic development expertise, Nick oversees hitting programs and mental skills programming as a coach for San Francisco State. His background includes significant roles at Menlo College and San Francisco State, where he has developed comprehensive training and recruitment strategies that have led teams to successful seasons. This season, the Legacy team will benefit from many returning players, including standouts like Ryan Farr, Cooper Winton, Cole Dixon, and Rowen Felsch.
This summer promises to be thrilling, with our teams traveling across California to compete against top-tier teams like the Humboldt Crabs, Healdsburg Prune Packers, Sonoma Stompers, Lincoln Potters, San Luis Obispo Blues, and the Santa Barbara Foresters.
The program will also enjoy technological enhancements at the College of San Mateo, where games will now feature advanced analytics systems like TrackMan and Synergy.
In addition to their competitive schedule, players from both teams will contribute to the Legends youth summer baseball camp, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing the next generation of baseball talent. This year also sees a significant expansion in our host family program, with over 20 elite collegiate athletes relocating to the Menlo Park area for the summer. Interested families can find more information by emailing david@legendscamps.com or clicking here.
Games for both teams will be held at 5 PM on weekdays and 1 PM on weekends at the College of San Mateo. For aspiring players interested in joining this vibrant community, please contact nick@legendscamps.com or chris@menloparkelegends.com to learn more.
See you this summer and BE LEGENDARY!
